1. Our Foundational Mission

stixdret operates out of Ottawa, Ontario, focusing on structural investigations into administrative spending, regulatory compliance, corporate structuring, and public policy fidelity. We reject sensationalist speed cycles in favor of exhaustive investigative dossiers supported by primary source documentation.

Our reporting answers one fundamental test: Does this matter to the public interest, and can every material assertion be verified through legal, technical, or documentary proof?

2. Code of Ethics & Autonomy

To preserve uncompromised autonomy, stixdret enforces the following structural rules:

  • Zero Corporate Advertising: We accept no corporate brand sponsorships, commercial native advertorials, or promotional guest postings.
  • No State Editorial Influence: We do not take operating grants tied to editorial direction or government public-relations programs.
  • Conflict of Interest Prohibitions: Editorial staff and contributing researchers are strictly prohibited from maintaining financial, lobbying, or advisory relationships with entities under investigation.
  • Fairness and Right of Reply: Any organization or individual subjected to investigative scrutiny is provided with detailed written questions and a reasonable timeline to respond prior to publication. Countervailing responses are fairly summarized or reproduced.

3. Source Protection & Legal Privilege

In accordance with Canadian common law protections and the Journalistic Sources Protection Act (S.C. 2017, c. 22), stixdret maintains absolute confidentiality for individuals who provide information on condition of anonymity.

We implement technical measures including air-gapped cryptographic workstations, encrypted communications, and digital forensic scrubbers to prevent metadata leaks. We will exhaust all judicial avenues to protect the identity of confidential sources who step forward in the public interest.

4. Factual Corrections Policy

Accuracy is our primary currency. When an error of fact occurs, we correct it with full transparency:

  • Corrections are placed prominently at the top of the relevant dispatch with the exact time and nature of the modification.
  • Clarifications that do not alter core factual findings are appended to the article footer with explicit context.
  • Readers who identify a potential error may email our senior editorial desk directly at [email protected] with the subject line "Formal Correction Request."

5. Bureau Operations & Canadian Presence

Our primary investigative desk is based in Ottawa at 150 Elgin Street. From this location, we coordinate Access to Information Act (ATIP) filings, provincial freedom-of-information requests across Canadian provinces, and cross-border research syndicates.

For research partnerships, syndication rights, or confidential editorial correspondence, our desk can be reached via [email protected] or by telephone at +1 (613) 555-0184.
